TRAMAINE TOWNSEND: HARMONY
HARMONY reimagines the clock as a portrait of humanity, marking time through the emotional experiences that shape our lives. Suspended above the audience, figures move through cycles of fear, freedom, love, celebration, and transformation, forming a living composition without beginning or end. Their slow movements occupy the space between still photography and cinema, inviting viewers to linger, recognize themselves in others, and become part of the work through their presence.
Within an infinite darkness, the figures exist free from landscape and chronology, each distinct yet inseparable from the whole. Here, harmony emerges through coexistence: fear and hope, grief and joy, solitude and community held within a shared composition. Through rhythm and recurrence, HARMONY transforms time into a space we inhabit together—an invitation to pause and consider how our individual experiences connect us.
