HOW TO PARTICIPATE

• At 9 am, participants should join the community gathering event at Gallery 86.
  
  
• At 11 am, the first clue will be handed out onsite to start the quest.
  
  
• At 11:10 am, the first clue will also be shared on AURORA’s social media channels—Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn⁠—for participants not present at the event location.
  
  
• Participants are invited to follow along, racing to find three clue cards at three different locations. The scavenger hunt ends when the first person with all three clues cards returns to the community gathering event at Gallery 86.
  
  
• The winner will take Hector Ramirez’ artwork (along with a certificate of authenticity) and a 65-inch Insignia Smart TV, and will have the opportunity to meet the artist.
  
  
• After the winner is announced, all participants will be invited to gather once again at Gallery 86 to celebrate the winner, meet the creator of the artworks, and enjoy refreshments from food vendors. 
  

COMMUNITY GATHERING
Throughout this Art Quest event (5–9 pm), AURORA will host a community gathering event in partnership with Los Primos and Gallery 86. In addition to the scavenger hunt, there will be a range of activities, including the closing event of the art exhibition Pleasant Grove in Color at Gallery 86, performances, and free food and beverages. The artwork prize will also be on public view at the event and the artist will be present.

Hector ramirEZ

Hector Ramirez is an artist from El Paso, Texas, and is currently based in Fort Worth. In 2020, he earned an M.F.A. in Sculpture from Texas Christian University and currently teaches at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ramirez has exhibited in multiple solo and group shows around the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, as well as in New York City, Berlin, and Hiroshima. Some of these shows include a UTA faculty exhibition, a show at Blind Alley in Fort Worth, and a show at Aurora in New York City. Ramirez was also included in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s Modern Billings. Most recently, his work was published in Artillery Magazine.

Art Quest participants will have a chance to win Hector Ramirez’ video artwork Blue Waltz (2018).

Gallery 86

Gallery 86 was founded as an online art space in 2017 by Dallas-area artists determined to showcase their artwork independently. In 2022, the group acquired a physical location and began hosting community art events. Since then, the gallery’s work has centered around growing the arts in the surrounding Pleasant Grove community through art classes, exhibitions, murals, and art talks supported by grants from the City of Dallas's Office of Arts and Culture and the National Endowment for the Arts. Gallery 86 aims to turn Pleasant Grove into Dallas’s next art hub in the near future.

• Invitamos a los participantes a seguir el juego compitiendo para encontrar tres tarjetas con pistas en tres lugares diferentes. La búsqueda del tesoro finaliza cuando la primera persona que consiga las tres tarjetas con pistas regresa al evento comunitario en Gallery 86.
  
  
• El ganador recibirá la obra de Héctor Ramírez (junto con un certificado de autenticidad) y un televisor Insignia Smart TV de 65 pulgadas, y tendrá la oportunidad de conocer al artista.
  
  
• Después de anunciar al ganador, se invitará a todos los participantes a reunirse una vez más para celebrar al triunfador, conocer al creador de las obras de arte y disfrutar de un refrigerio ofrecido por los proveedores de alimentos.
  

REUNIÓN COMUNITARIA
Durante todo el evento Art Quest (de 5 p.m. a 9 p.m.), AURORA organizará un evento comunitario en colaboración con Los Primos y Gallery 86. Además de la búsqueda del tesoro, habrá una variedad de actividades, incluyendo el evento de clausura de la exhibición de arte "Pleasant Grove in Color" en Gallery 86, actuaciones y comida y bebida gratis. La obra ganadora también estará expuesta al público durante el evento y el artista estará presente.

Hector ramirEZ

Hector Ramirez es un artista de El Paso, Texas, y actualmente reside en Fort Worth. Gallery 86

Gallery 86 fue fundada en 2017 como un espacio artístico online por un grupo de artistas del área de Dallas decididos a exhibir sus obras de forma independiente. En 2022, el grupo adquirió un local físico y comenzó a organizar eventos artísticos para la comunidad. Desde entonces, el trabajo de la galería se ha centrado en el fomento de las artes en la comunidad circundante de Pleasant Grove a través de clases de arte, exhibiciones, murales y charlas sobre arte, con el apoyo de subvenciones de la Office of Arts and Culture de la ciudad de Dallas y el National Endowment for the Arts. Gallery 86 tiene como objetivo convertir Pleasant Grove en el próximo centro artístico de Dallas en el futuro próximo.
