When is the 2024 AURORA Biennial?

From Saturday, November 16th, at 7pm to Sunday, November 17th, at 1am

Where is the event?

1500 Marilla
Dallas, TX 75201

This year’s AURORA spans a footprint along Young Street in Downtown Dallas, bounded on the east by Ervay Street, the south by Canton and the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center, the west by Griffin Street, and the north by Young Street. It encompasses Dallas City Hall.

How much does it cost?

The event is free and open to the public. Come one, come all! There are costs associated with parking as well as for food and beverages.

What is the dress code?

AURORA is casual. The entire footprint of the event is big (54 acres!), so it’s best to wear comfortable shoes.

Can I take DART?

Yes – in fact, we encourage it as DART is AURORA’s official transportation provider! You can take the Red or Blue Line to the Convention Center Station. Check out the DART website for more details.

Where do I park and how much does it cost?

There are many public lots and paid parking options nearby in Downtown Dallas. This website is a great resource for assessing all your parking options. The Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center also has a great parking map you can use as a resource. Parking varies from limited free street parking in Downtown to paid lots costing up to $20.

The first 500 people to register their vehicles using the code below will receive $5 parking at the lots located at either 1600 or 1700 Canton Street. Click on the Guest Checkout link for the LIGHTSHOW zone to receive the special parking rate.

We encourage carpooling or ridesharing to get to the event. The drop point for ride share is Griffin and Wood Streets.

Where is the box office?

There is not a box office (no tickets are required for the event!), however, we will have informational tents located throughout the event. Please visit one for a map and to ask any questions.

Will there be food and beverages?

Yes! There are food trucks and bars selling beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the event footprint.

What items am I allowed to bring?

Small bags and backpacks are allowed.

What items am I not allowed to bring?

Chairs, signs, anything that could be considered a weapon of any kind (gun, knife, large stick, projectiles, etc.), graffiti pens, or spray paint. Use good judgement here. We reserve the right to disallow any other items we deem inappropriate, dangerous, or inconvenient to other people attending the event.

What is AURORA?

AURORA is a Dallas-based public arts organization working at the intersection of art, technology, and community to present works by the most visionary artists of our time. Through the AURORA Biennial exhibition and Expanded program, the organization engages with both regional and international audiences alike and develops new initiatives to create more opportunities and resources for Dallas’ artistic community and the wider public. Such initiatives include AURORA’s large-scale biennial exhibition, as well as a year-round program of site-specific installations, special events, social gatherings, and educational projects. AURORA was founded in 2010 by artists Shane Pennington and Joshua King, along with veteran Dallas arts supporter Veletta Forsythe Lill.
